Set a revenue target
Set an organisation-wide fundraising goal and track progress against it, with on-track pacing, right on your Engage dashboard.
A revenue target is a dollar goal for how much your organisation aims to raise over a period. Set one on the Engage dashboard and Together paces your confirmed income against it - so you can see at a glance whether you are on track, and how much a week you need to raise to hit the goal by your end date.
The organisation-wide target is on every plan, at no cost. It counts confirmed donations from every source - donation forms, checkout links, recommendation sets, and campaigns alike.
Before you start
You need:
- EDITOR or ADMIN on your org to set, edit, or clear a target. Anyone (including a VIEWER) can see the progress once a target is set.
- Nothing else - the organisation-wide target is a Free-plan feature.
Set a target
- Go to Engage. The Revenue target card sits just under the summary tiles at the top.
- Click Set target.
- Enter your target amount in dollars.
- Set a start date, and optionally an end date:
- With an end date - Together paces the target across the window and tells you whether you are on track, plus the weekly rate needed to finish on time.
- Without an end date - the target is open-ended: you see progress only, with no pacing.
- Click Save target.
Read the progress
Once a target is set, the card shows what you have raised against the goal, a progress bar, and a status:
- On track - your raised-so-far is at or ahead of where the pace line expects you to be today.
- Slightly behind / Behind - you are under the pace line; the card shows the dollars-per-week needed to still hit the goal by the end date.
- Target reached - you have hit the goal.
The dark mark on the bar is today's on-pace position - where you would be if you were raising evenly across the window.
Once set, a read-only summary of the organisation-wide target also appears on your main dashboard (the first screen after you sign in), so you can see progress at a glance without opening Engage. Click it to jump to Engage to edit.
What counts towards the target
The figure is confirmed donations, net of refunds, from every source, dated inside the target window. It is not the same as the Total Raised tile above it: Total Raised is your all-time gross income, while the target figure is windowed and refund-netted, so the two numbers can legitimately differ.
Pending and failed payments never count towards the target.
Edit or clear a target
Click Edit target on the card to change the amount or dates, or Archive target to clear it. Archiving keeps the record but removes the card's progress; set a new target whenever you like. You can change a target at any time, including after it has been downgraded off a paid plan.
Donation-form targets
A single donation form can have its own target, so you can pace one form separately from the organisation-wide goal. Open the form (Forms, then click the form), and on the Details tab use the Revenue target card - the same Set target flow as above.
A form target counts confirmed donations through that form, net of refunds: both one-off gifts and renewals from recurring donors who started on the form. Setting one needs EDITOR or ADMIN, and it is free on every plan.
What to do next
- Run a giving-aware campaign. Campaigns carry their own target on the campaign page, so you can pace a single push separately from the organisation-wide goal.
- Read the donations list. See the individual confirmed gifts that add up to the figure on the card.
